Tonight, for me, was a great night to provide to you with fantastic entertainment, playing all these Australian songs to you. So, is with great pleasure that I have presented to you wonderful audience another great 'Upbeat' show.
We thank the following audiences providing song requests, which was played during the show:

Tonight, was my 26th Live and 23rd Solo live 'Upbeat Songs With John' Radio Show at Bay & Basin 92.7FM.......from E.S.T. 6pm to 8pm broadcasted live to all of you.
Last week I found 12 reasons why listening to radio is awesome and today we will go through each one, week by week so we can all understand each reasoning. This week is
1) A friendly voice that makes you relax, even if you're by yourself
So, you may think what does that mean? It really means that if you are comforted by listening to a natural voice that expresses contentment, keeps you listening to words of encouragement to listen and makes you feel in your own comfort zone, you can listen in a house full of people and you are in your own room or you can be the only person in your house, no one else to speak to, completely undisturbed. The beaut thing about this is, it is up to you how you listen and relax.
During my show, I know one person is cooking and preparing dinner. I know others are listening ready to make that call and request a song. There may be others finishing, sitting down ready to sip their cold drink. Sometimes people might want to turn off the news at the time of my show as who wants to listen to bad news on the TV. Relaxing to 'Upbeat Songs with John' is a non-expensive way of listening in complete comfort: I bring the good music and make people feeling happy, especially with the 'Happy Moment Segment'.

New Arena Fencing at Nowra and Kangaroo Valley Showgrounds - Shoalhaven City Council - Media Release
15 January 2021
Shoalhaven City Council is improving safety at Nowra and Kangaroo Valley Showgrounds with works at Nowra scheduled to be complete in early February.
New fencing around the arenas will make the facilities safer and more secure for users while providing an area that complements surrounding facilities. The scheduled arena fence replacements are funded through a NSW Government grant of $250,000.
The arenas are the centrepiece of the annual Nowra and Kangaroo Valley Shows, as well hosting several community events throughout the year.
The design of the fencing will maintain the existing look of the current fencing and will be designed to blend into the surrounding heritage landscape. Works at Nowra will be completed by February and works at Kangaroo Valley will be completed by March.
Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley said the improvements will make both showgrounds much better venues for a wide range of users.
“Nowra Showground is used by thousands of people each year, from the hundreds of people that turn out to the Nowra Show to equestrian events, car shows and swap meets. Kangaroo Valley Showground is also an important venue and like Nowra is used as an evacuation centre during bushfire emergencies.
“Showgrounds often have old infrastructure that would fall into disrepair without sufficient funds for maintenance and improvements.
“This new fence will make the arena much safer for all users and provide an area that really complements the surrounding facilities at the Showground,” she said
“I’m grateful to the State Government for the financial support needed to enhance showground facilities and ensure public safety at these sites,” said Clr Findley.

11 January 2021
Shoalhaven City Council is pleased to announce the completion of irrigation works at Bernie Regan Sporting Complex at North Nowra.
The installation was jointly funded by Council and the NSW Government with a total project cost of $240,000. Works included the installation of phone based smart controllers that can be programmed to optimise turf growth whilst minimising water usage.
This installation will greatly improve the surface quality at the complex which is home to both the North Nowra Cricket Club and Illaroo Football Club.
Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley is delighted with the water efficiency improvements and the benefit to the sporting community.
“Improvements to infrastructure is essential to ensure these facilities can host high quality events and be utilised by the community all year round,” she said.
“Council is committed to securing investments in our region to improve infrastructure and ensure our community has the high class facilities they expect and deserve,” said Clr Findley.
This irrigation project follows on from other recent installations including Sanctuary Point Oval, Bomaderry Sporting Complex, Nowra Showground added area and Ray Abood Oval in Cambewarra all of which were co-funded with the NSW Government.
Further field works undertaken through the NSW Government funding included the installation of subsurface drainage at Ulladulla Sporting Complex and Sanctuary Point Oval. These installations allow for rapid field recovery following high rainfall events.

Little Libraries Bring Joy of Reading to Holiday Haven Parks - Shoalhaven City Council - Media Release
8 January 2021
Visitors to Holiday Haven Parks can enjoy easy access to books thanks to recently installed street libraries.
All 12 holiday parks are a part of the Holiday Haven Little Library project. A collaboration between Holiday Haven and Shoalhaven Libraries, the street libraries are stocked with pre-loved books in a range of genres suitable for children, teens and adults.
Library staff regularly check the little libraries and re-stock with replacement books when supplies dwindle.
Mayor Amanda Findley is excited about the Holiday Haven Little Library project.
“This is a fabulous initiative that shares the joy of reading. People can simply reach in and take what interests them; when they are done, they can return them to the Street Library network, or pass them on to friends,” she said.
“The street libraries are a welcome addition to our Holiday Haven parks, giving visitors and locals access to more reading material, with the added benefit of regular re-stocking by our wonderful library staff.
“There are so many benefits for us all to read for pleasure, both young and old. Curling up with a good book on holidays is one of my favourite ways to spend a holiday,” said Clr Findley.
