Have your say on the Sussex Inlet, St. Georges Basin, Swan Lake and Berrara Creek Coastal Management Program - Shoalhaven City Council - Media Release

As part of Stage 2 studies for the Sussex Inlet, St. Georges Basin, Swan Lake and Berrara Creek Coastal Management Programs (CMPs), Council is inviting community members to take part in the following upcoming Community Workshops and Information drop-in sessions: 

• Tuesday 15 March - Erowal Bay Public Hall, 19 King George St, Erowal Bay Community workshop 4:30-6pm (registration essential) 
• Community information drop-in session 6:30-7:30pm (registration not required) 
• Wednesday 16 March - Sussex Inlet Community Centre, 21 Thomson Street, Sussex Inlet 
• Community workshop 4:30-6pm (registration essential) 
• Community information drop-in session 6:30-7:30pm (registration not required) 

The community workshops will gather additional insights into key coastal management issues and concerns impacting these areas, including ideas and opportunities on how best to manage them.

Council encourages the community to be involved and help to shape and inform the development of these CMPs. The community will also be invited to review and comment on the draft CMPs that will be put on public exhibition following further development. 

Places are limited, if you would like to attend the Community Workshops on the 15 or 16 March 2022, please complete the online Workshop Form. Additional workshops may be scheduled if required. Please note that all are welcome at the information drop-in sessions and no registration is required.  

You can also provide insight via the Interactive Map by using the categorised marker pins to make a comment and highlight your areas of concerns specific to Coastal Management in the area.

Have Your Say For A Better Bus Network for Greater Nowra - NSW Transport

 

As a former public transport advocate for Mount Druitt and the Western Sydney, with the help of the community, we got many changes through from bus shelter upgrades to proper bus service re-introduced into the area after the NSW Government removed those services in 2009.

 I was told by a few people that because of the political temperature in that area,  no one will care and nothing will be done. without the support of the local community, it could not have been done.

Now moving into a regional area that services provided are not as frequent as higher density areas of living, sets a new focus of  real demand required. As yet, I haven't caught a bus yet and am looking forward to the scenic tour of where the 102 bus service goes. All I hear from people again, is there isn't enough services to meet commuters demands.

Questions need to be raised is a cost affect approach or is it blind to the fact that if your double your services, you will at least double your patronage? I have had people raise ideas of when the clubs community buses are not running could they reduce the issues of demanding service if factored in the Bus Region 4 Bus services.

Something, I would be pleased to look into as well as any minor or major improvements recommend as well.

One recommendation I have already asked, whilst speaking to the Bus Operators representative is that  Do you supply email updates of  any service as provided in Bus Region 1. The answer was we are a small company and we don't do this? So this could one step in the right direction to offer email or mms updates when services are changing.

Now's the time to have your say of bus services in the area after you have completed your bus service. Survey Starts  as from 11th January 2021 to the 5th February 2021. This is the time not just to have this a s dinner table topic but to have your say as a public transport user, using the bus network.

I also understand we have campaigners to extend the rail across the Shoalhaven River and down to the Southern Coast and this topic has been raised with the NSW Government for decades. In my eyes, rather than completing more bridge for more cars into Nowra or Bomaderry, providing train services will reduce the vehicle traffic with the area once it would be completed. So, yes, I do have positive feedback to give to NSW Government Representatives and Stake Holders to improve public transport infrastructure within the Shoalhaven Local Government Area.

So each and every one of you have an important role to complete this survey. If the feeling and moods are the same from all of us, change will happen in time. I also urge  people who do not catch public transport in the area to fo so and give your feedback. This is especially if you will need to use public transport one day, whether it is for travelling to work or just commuting from town to town.

Have your say on Council’s plans and budget for 2020/21

Would you like to have your say on Blacktown City Council’s plans and budget for the coming year? Council has updated its Operational Plan for 2020/21 and is seeking community feedback. This plan includes the draft: actions and targets budget capital works and rates, fees and charges. The documents can be found on Council’s website. They incorporate a funding strategy recently approved by Council to borrow $12.7 million to fund asset renewal works in 2020/21. Blacktown City Council - Media Release - Help Design Your New Park In Blacktown

11 March 2020

Residents are invited to have their say in the design of a park

in Blacktown.

The community engagement event is being held on 

Saturday 21 March between 10 am and 12 pm in the reserve

at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Prince Street, 

Blacktown, with residents being asked for their input into the 

redesign and upgrade of the park.

Blacktown City Mayor Tony Bleasdale OAM will be there 

along with council staff and is encouraging residents to have 

their say on the upgrade.

“Council has heard the community’s calls for the park on the 

corner of Fourth Avenue and Prince Street Blacktown to be 

improved and we want to design this park with the local 

community.

“Understanding what the community would like is important 

to help guide Council and ensure the redeveloped park is 

exactly what residents want,” Mayor Bleasdale said.

“I encourage residents to meet staff members and discuss 

what they would like to see featured in the upgrade. 

Understanding the community’s wants and needs is a vital 

part in the design process.”

The event will allow community members the opportunity to 

directly provide their preferences for the upgrade through the 

use of interactive display boards and discussions with 

Council and the designers.
