Is the Vincentia Fairway Fight Fair?

The Vincentia Golf Club part of the St Georges Basin Country Club, hasn't been a profitable club since taken over by 'The Country Club St Georges Ba', while redevelopment plans to provide a 200 retirement type of village were quashed by a majority of members because they thought it would devalue their properties within the area and by an eyesore for views around Jervis Bay,  the views from their individual properties were not being affected as a majority of properties have direct view of Jervis Bay.

The Vincentia Golf Club redevelopment proposal was on the highest point of Vincentia.  It may have devalued properties quickly, yet the market would be picked up as soon as the market realised that that sight had great facilities, close by for all to use. There is an understanding most of the golfers at Vincentia have not used club facilities, after their games. This is not compulsory, yet would have been beneficial to the financial running of the club. My experience at attending that premises at least 6 times over the past 5 years: I would see patrons in the gaming room and a minimum 6-8 patrons in other public areas as well as the Chinese Restaurant most of the tomes are pretty busy. The  Conference/Wedding Rooms Room was an amazing place for any time of celebration - again supported by the Chinese restaurant.

About the promotion of that part of the Club, The St Georges Basin  Country Club has sponsored Bay & Basin 927fm Community Radio, providing promotions for both the club at Sanctuary Point and Vincentia.

It's only now since the anti-development group thought that their club was still going to run after the proposal was defeated. They say they didn't know it was going to be closed but the main organisers knew about it. So, if the Vincentia Fairway fight fair? No, as the locals hardly supported it. A  St Georges Basin Spokesperson (Not Bob Proudfoot, President of the club), indicated to me that since the Club was bought by the SGBCC, If all the members that live in and around the Vincentia villages, attended the club and all their facilities attend the VGC part of SGBCC, then they would not be in this predicament.

Now, the panic button is switched on, all the alarms are on to save the VGC of the SGBCC, and even suggestions to ridiculously sent Veteran Golfers to Callala to play golf and not support the SGBCC and play there. It's like a feeling of one part of the club against the other when we should all work and live in harmony. All these proposals for promoting VGC are last-minute decisions, why did they care, when the SGBCC bought them? That's the question that needs to be answered.  It's not a financially viable position to keep it open now
