Get Involved in Francis Ryan Reserve Amenities Building Upgrade - Shoalhaven City Council

 

The Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan identifies the future development of Francis Ryan Reserve to encourage the use of the site as a recreation park. The Shoalhaven Delivery Program Operational Plan (DPOP) 2020/2021(External link) includes an action for the design of an amenities building at Francis Ryan Reserve in 2021/22.

At the June 2020 Strategy and Assets Committee meeting, Council resolved to proceed with the design of a new amenities building at Francis Ryan reserve, Sanctuary Point, and to consult with the community and sporting organisations to ensure the building meets current and future needs.

In June/July 2020, Council conducted a survey to gauge the current and future needs of the community. After reviewing the results of this consultation, Council then proceeded to the design of the amenities building.

Project Vision:

This project implements the actions identified in the Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan(External link) to further develop Francis Ryan Reserve. The building design will include accessible and ambulant public amenities as well as change rooms and storage for sports groups. This development will allow for increased accessibility and amenity for sporting clubs and the community.

The Girls of Guanabara - Skateboard Enthusiasts

While, in Sanctuary Point there is a campaign for a Bike Bump Track to be situated around the Francis Ryan Reserve, Sanctuary Point, we are providing an entertaining video.

The Girls from Guanabara are from Guanabara Bay, Rio De Janiero, Brazil. They have wonder techniques and tricks that they perform on a skateboard with quite ease. Maybe our skateboard enthusiasts may learn a trick or two from them or they may be able to perform same or better tricks.
