To My Surprise 'Published Post’ in The Bay & Basin About Magazine'!

You all know that posting on Social media - can be daunting! We, all have to be careful of how we promote items of interest to these communities and expect both complimentary and negative feedback to happen. Positive feedback on a post could simply be liking or loving posts or even disliking them.

Positive feedback is when you share posts on social media and
the original post receives a fair amount of seen (or viewed). In saying that, not all that viewed the post - read the entire post. So after 271 views on the original post, published on buses, suggesting 50 per cent read the post approximately 135 community members read the post and community groups were interested. It raised discussions and real-time anxiety dropped with some commuters as they have been using software applications that make them aware of our real-time bus localities. So out of 135 that read the post if 65 people now catch these bus services, compared to before, we are heading in the right direction.

The original post here was inspired by Raul Arregui (a few years ago) when I first arrived here. I then put it on the 'Backburner' and now bring it out. Thank you to Bruce & Jenny and their Sanctuary Point Community Champions (as they were then known) for they were instrumental in conducting a community survey and presenting the result to the community. Public Transport was listed as 2nd by the community as a matter of importance for the Champions to work on.
*This was the Sanctuary Point Community Champions  Community Survey Project Result.

Thank you to Christine and Gwen from the Sanctuary Point Community Champions, who used my original post (with permission), to make our community more aware of what is available to the general public, and to catch buses easier, for our wider community.

Anyway Here (Page 13) is the online version for you to read. You can pick up your copy of it at various shops around the community

Update on COVID-19 Death Rates - Raul Arregui Twitter

LNP claims our low death rate as their achievement. Our low death rate before Omicron was due to the lockdowns imposed by the states, not the LNP. LNP is responsible for "Let It Rip", which left us 64th in deaths/pop since Omicron and 29th for vaxxs #covid19 #LNPDisgrace #lnpfail

This is an excellent informative video about the effectiveness of vaccines from the USA, very current. Please watch it and pass it around. Even after vaccinated, we still need to keep COVID protocols (eg masks, soc distancing, etc) youtube.com/watch?v=vCCGP6

COVID-19 Update - Raul Arregui

Here is the link to today's report (PDF attached too):

Summary:
- data up to 24th August but incomplete (only 444 of the 921 cases reported)
the number of cases under investigation is extremely high (2376 total from last 4 days, 85 more than 2 days ago)
1 LGAs with new cases in the last 3 days: Mosman
vaccination rates are the ONLY positive news on the way the outbreak is going for NSW

It is as if the NSW government has stopped trying to contain the spread, and only focus on the vaccine rates. The message from the Premier today was "don't focus on the case numbers, they go up and down" ... that is a LIE ... the numbers do not go "up and down", they go UP AND UP for NSW. At the current trend, we could have 25x the volume of cases by the time we reach 80% full vaccination (mid Nov). That could mean more than 16,000 people in hospital beds; needing more than 2,825 ICU beds; and with more than 1,900 more deaths. I think we need the NSW government to contain the spread, while continuing vaccinations. If you agree with me please write to your local state representatives and ask them to push for that in the NSW Parliament (I've done it already, twice).

COVID-19 Update - Raul Arregui

Here is the link for today's report (PDF attached):

One important item to highlight today is that there are 2 cases in the Shoalhaven LGA, reported on 17th and 18th Aug. Both cases are overseas acquired, not locally acquired. Possibly people returning from abroad with the virus. We are still doing well in the Shoalhaven !!!

BE Patient NSW- There Is Light At The End Of The Tunnel - COVID-19 - Raul Arregui

I thought I would share some good news today. There is light at the end of the tunnel !!

Uruguay had a tough battle with COVID. For a small nation with only about 3.5m people, they had more than 380k cases of covid and more than 6k deaths. If we compare it with NSW, we have about 2.2x their population (8.1m) so if we had the same level of COVID cases we would have almost 840k cases and about 13k deaths ... we only have 13k cases and 104 deaths. Also, the rate of cases to deaths for Uruguay is 16 deaths every 1000 cases; however, for NSW it is only 8 deaths per 1000 cases. Uruguay has a very good health care system, but the large volume of cases might have exceeded their health system capacity causing the high death toll there. So, we are handling COVID-19 "delta" very well in NSW considering all this.

Now the light at the end of the tunnel, Uruguay has vaccinated 75.5% of their population, almost 70% fully vaccinated. See the graphs showing vaccination/cases/deaths below for the same period (mid-March to now). You will be able to see how as the population was getting fully vaccinated, cases and deaths reduced until almost disappearing. That is what's going to happen in NSW too when we reach the same levels of vaccination, around mid-November. Just a couple of months and we'll be there.

COVID-19 Update - Raul Arregui

Here is the link to today's report (PDF attached too):

Summary:
- data up to 13th August but incomplete (only 347 of the 467 cases reported)
the number of cases under investigation is extremely high (893 total from last 4 days, 107 more than yesterday, how can contact tracing handle it?)
virus has spread into 4 LGAs during the last 3 days: Cessnock (C), Lithgow (C), Singleton (A), Walgett (A)
at the current trend of new cases, we could have 2.2x the caseload/ICU beds/deaths by 28th Aug - NSW state to go on lockdown from 14th Aug 5pm !!!

Numbers for This Outbreak ONLY (from 16th June 2021 to 3rd Aug 2021):
- Cases: 7472 (7337 locally transmitted) /  Deaths: 43

This is why a statewide lockdown was needed. We won't achieve herd immunity from vaccination until mid Nov, at the present trend our caseload could be more than tenfold then by then which would exceed the capacity of our health system and cause hundreds of deaths. I am so glad someone at the NSW Parliament cared about the people and forced Gladys to go into a statewide lockdown.

NSW COVID-19 Cases by Location Analysis as of 29th July 2021 - Raul Arregui

Here is the link to today's report (PDF attached too):

Summary:
- data up of 29th July but incomplete (only 218 of the 240 cases reported)
we have passed the highest number of daily new cases in NSW ever (since the start of the pandemic)
the number of cases under investigation is now extremely high (327 total from last 4 days, 88 more than yesterday) -- contact tracing is in trouble with numbers like this ...
virus has spread into a new LGA during the last 3 days: Goulburn-Mulwaree
if cases start reducing daily from tomorrow, it would take until 11h Aug to progressively reduce new cases to 0

See the chart of new cases per population by LGA for the last 4 days below. The Strathfield LGA is 6th on the top-10; and it has higher cases per population than the Blacktown, Parramatta or Georges River LGAs. However, Strathfield is not one of the 8 LGAs that are currently in "tight" lockdown, while Blacktown, Parramatta and Georges River are. Why not?

COVID-19 Updates - Raul Arregui

Here is the link to today's report (PDF attached too):

Summary:
- data up of 18th July only
- the number of cases under investigation is still too high (116 total from last 4 days)
- virus is spreading, four (4) new LGAs with new cases last 3 days: Blue Mountains (C), Gunnedah (A), Lane Cove (A), Wingecarribee (A)
at the present trend, there could be more than 10 new cases on 30th July and that could risk lifting this lockdown

Corona Virus COVID-19 Risk Rating - provided by Raul Arregui Post

Yes, we know that Corona Virus COVID-19 is a very serious matter, yet while we all may feel frustrated that we are either isolating at home or not having the same happy lifestyle, we were having last year or years before - we do have to have a laugh with Raul's COVID-19 Risk Chart. Life is different for us globally and that is something we all have to and should accept.

I was wondering if I could add somewhere having a fitness walk dogs down the road for one hour check - would fit in? There could be others like social distancing clean up the neighbourhood, check on your neighbours over the fence, donate a plant in your local recreational park (seek permission first with authorities), start up a park social network of social distancing chatting club in your local park and many more - I'm sure there are others that could come up. Hey I wonder if the virus enters into 2021 - would the name be Corona Virus COVID19-20?

Check it out - see if you would add any other activity to it:
