Here is the link to today's report (PDF attached too):
Summary:
- data up to 13th August but incomplete (only 347 of the 467 cases reported)
- the number of cases under investigation is extremely high (893 total from last 4 days, 107 more than yesterday, how can contact tracing handle it?)
- virus has spread into 4 LGAs during the last 3 days: Cessnock (C), Lithgow (C), Singleton (A), Walgett (A)
- at the current trend of new cases, we could have 2.2x the caseload/ICU beds/deaths by 28th Aug - NSW state to go on lockdown from 14th Aug 5pm !!!
Numbers for This Outbreak ONLY (from 16th June 2021 to 3rd Aug 2021):
- Cases: 7472 (7337 locally transmitted) / Deaths: 43
This is why a statewide lockdown was needed. We won't achieve herd immunity from vaccination until mid Nov, at the present trend our caseload could be more than tenfold then by then which would exceed the capacity of our health system and cause hundreds of deaths. I am so glad someone at the NSW Parliament cared about the people and forced Gladys to go into a statewide lockdown.
