Feedback received from the previous post in Facebook & The Man Walk - St Georges Basin:
- Linkage from Basin to Sussex Inlet Bus services. Bus 134 Shoal Bus Service Click here for Shoal Time Tables
- Currently, Nowra Coaches get to Sussex Inlet, travel to Nowra and transfer to Shoal Bus Service to Sussex Inlet- advised by Neil.
- 102 Express Bus Services to enter and leave Princess Highway to and from Island Point Road, Then to Falls Creek, South Nowra, Nowra and Bomaderry.
- Bus Stop Numbers to be included in Bus Contractors Timetables
- From Bomaderry to SP: read books, checked phone, cycles to and from townships
- Keoride - On Demand buses front door to the main bus stop and slightly increased bus services - currently in The Northern Beaches of Sydney
- From The Man Walk - Are there services to Sussex Inlet -
- We need proper bus stop signs telling us where the buses are going, for example, bus 102 Scenic & 102 Express to Nowra via Vincentia etc to Nowra then Bomaderry.
- Another lady didn't believe me that the 102 Express could not be 15 minutes or so from Basin View to Vincentia HomeCo. I will try it and report it here. Apparently, she will never catch buses.
The last published post generated reasonable conversation explaining that the general consensus with our current bus service is good but the infrastructure and connections need to change. Let me say here the wheels are in motion for that to happen.
Whilst going for improvements, in bus stop infrastructure and updated timetables, appropriately we ensure that the best times are offered to our community and better connections to other towns outside our area.
Keoride may be good for the area but the fares are slightly increased. They seem like to be club buses that drop and meet you at your front door.
So, as the next step is to see these changes happen, they will in time.
See improvement in public transport brings better linkage to all community members. There is an understanding of confidence people have within themselves to commit to travel using our local bus services, comfortably, conveniently and easily to our destinations. The economic and social positive effects are huge when compared to how it can open doors of communication by visiting friends and family, shopping locally - an economic boost to the local shops and businesses, meeting families and friends in Nowra Shopping Centres, hospitals, medical centres, travelling to our beaches (part of the 100 beaches along the south coast theme).
