Great news! An Albanese Labor Government will improve local health services in the Eurobodalla ALP Gilmore

People across the South Coast and Far South Coast are finding it harder to see a GP, access emergency care, maternity, neo-natal and paediatric health services - and their already strained household budgets are being hit by the rising out of pocket cost to see a GP.

That's why I am so proud that an Albanese Labor Government will fund a Radiation Therapy Centre in Moruya and a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Batemans Bay.

Labor is committed to addressing the unequal access to quality, vital cancer treatment facilities close to home in regional areas.

People in the Eurobodalla Shire deserve the same vital hospital care as people in Sydney and larger regions – and with this $8 million commitment to a Radiation Therapy Centre, Labor will help provide it.

I have continued to fight for a Radiation Therapy Centre for the Eurobodalla region since before I was elected, including tabling a community petition in the Australian Parliament.

I have never lost sight of the immense pain that cancer patients and their families undergo as they are forced to travel long distances for treatment that they should never have to do.

Thank you to Dr Michael Holland, Cathie Hurst and the community who have continued to fight for what people need.
With Member for Bega, Dr Michael Holland, NSW Labor Leader Chris Minns MP, local cancer survivor Cathie Hurst and NSW Shadow Minister for Health Ryan Park MP making the announcement that an Albanese Labor Government will invest $8 million in a local radiation therapy centre.
Under Labor, families in Gilmore and across the South Coast will get the bulk billed urgent medical care they need, without having to wait hours at over-burdened hospital emergency departments, with a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Batemans Bay.

It should be getting easier, not harder, to see a GP. But the out-of-pocket cost to see one is getting even higher, which is the last thing our community needs when we are already struggling with the cost of living.

That’s why I’ve been fighting for better health services for everyone in our community, and I’m so pleased that if elected, an Albanese Labor Government will build an Urgent Care Clinic in Batemans Bay.

This will make it easier for people to see a GP and increase access to bulk billing, so people don’t have to pay those out-of-pocket costs.
