Shoalhaven’s Director of City Futures, Carey McIntyre, Announced  4 April 2022 - Shoalhaven City Council - Media Release

Shoalhaven City Council announces the appointment of Carey McIntyre to the role of Director, City Futures.  

Mr McIntyre has over 27 years of experience in local government, working at Campbelltown, Wollongong, Camden, and Shellharbour Councils, in the fields of engineering, town planning, project management and strategic planning.  

Mr McIntyre described the move as an exciting opportunity, and said he was looking forward to being part of the Shoalhaven City Council Executive Team. 

 Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Amanda Findley said she is incredibly pleased with the appointment of Mr McIntyre to the position of Director, City Futures.  

“Carey McIntyre joins us with a wealth of experience in engineering, town planning, project management and strategic planning with NSW local governments.”  

“He has extensive stakeholder engagement experience and is a strong advocate for public sector administration and the opportunities that present themselves for public/private sector collaboration.” 

“I’m sure you will join me in welcoming Mr McIntyre to Council in his new role,” Mayor Findley said.  

Under Mr McIntyre's leadership, the City Futures Directorate is responsible for Strategic Land Use and Infrastructure Planning, Urban Release Areas Transformational City Projects, City Growth, Advocacy and Tourism and Economic Development. The directorate is also responsible for Placemaking and Urban Renewal, Affordable Housing Strategies and Strategic Property Asset Ventures. 

Carey McIntyre joined Council on 4 April 2022.
