Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide - HOPE

It is imperative that the New South Wales Parliament hits the pause button on euthanasia and assisted suicide laws in the wake of the unfolding aged care crisis. How many residents who are currently locked up with no end in sight, experiencing untold despair and hopelessness, will ‘choose’ state sanctioned death if it is made legal?

Palliative care doctors have spoken up, saying they are sick of euthanasia advocates scaring people off good end-of-life care to push their agenda.

A focus on traumatic cases coupled with a failure to report on good palliative care does a grave disservice to terminally ill patients.

In the United Kingdom, the violent past of a ‘champion’ of euthanasia and assisted suicide has come back to haunt him, and has disrupted one news outlets’ pro-euthanasia campaign.

For NSW residents, please sign this ePetition to the Parliament requesting that the Greenwich Bill be unanimously opposed and rejected. The petition will be running until 25 April 2022 but it is important you sign it straight away because debate will begin before then.

We would also urge you to share it widely with your friends, family and social media networks. We need as many people as possible to make their voices heard!

Warm regards,

Branka van der Linden
Director, HOPE
