The NSW Government is hosting a Social Media Summit this October and we want to hear your thoughts. Take our survey to share your experiences and concerns about social media, online safety, disinformation and misinformation, and the impact of social media on wellbeing, especially for our children and young people. The results of the survey will help shape discussions at the summit and drive meaningful solutions. Together, we can create a safer and more positive online environment for everyone. The consultation is open until 8 September 2024.

Easy to navigate, the hub is designed to help you access support services, savings and rebates, and show you ways to make your household budget go further.

Reduce your fire risk when using lithium-ion batteries  Lithium-ion batteries now power everything from phones, power tools, toothbrushes to e-bikes, cars… even homes. However, there were almost 300 fires caused by lithium-ion batteries in NSW last year. Learn how to charge safely, identify a faulty battery and know what to do if a device starts smoking. You can also find out about new product standards that will make e-bikes and e-scooters safer.

Do you know the next NSW Woman of the Year? Nominations are now open for the NSW Women of the Year Awards 2025. The Awards celebrate the women and girls who’ve inspired their communities and improved the lives of people in NSW. This is your chance to make sure their achievements, as well as their courage, skills and dedication, get the recognition they deserve. Nominations are also open for the Ones-to-Watch category, which celebrates our rising stars aged 7 to 15. Nominations close 15 September.

They get in, pretend to be someone you know, then replace the real payment details with their own BSB and account numbers.  Before you transfer money, confirm bank details with a phone call – not SMS or email.

Shoalhaven City Council is inviting the community to have their say on the services, programs and projects Council has planned for the coming financial year.  

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking feedback on the Draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan and Budget – 2021/2022 which includes Council's proposed Fees and Charges. 

The draft Delivery Program outlines how Council is working towards achieving the community’s aspirations and long-term vision for our City.  

In the coming financial year Council has over 450 proposed projects to be delivered across the Shoalhaven.  

The following major projects are included in the draft Delivery Program for 2021/2022:   

• Shoalhaven Community & Recreation Precinct (SCaRP) 

• Sanctuary Point Library 

• Nowra Riverfront Precinct 

• Material Recovery Facility 

• Far-North Collector Road 

• Bay and Basin Skate Park 

• Boongaree – Stages 2, 3 and 4 

• Resource Recovery Facility 

 Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley said, “The draft Plan outlines how Council is working towards achieving the community’s aspirations and long-term vision for our City”.  

“Council is committed to delivering valuable infrastructure and services which create a safe and attractive community for people to live, work, stay and play,” Clr Findley said. 

“Council is planning for our future City where sustainable growth, development and environmental protection are managed to provide a unique and relaxed lifestyle,” Clr Findley said. 

“This year Council has made it easier for the community to find proposed projects in their area with the inclusion of 85 highlighted proposed projects on its website using the My Area map search function”, Clr Findley said.  

Feedback will close at 5pm on Thursday 27 May 2021.

Have your say on Council’s plans and budget for 2020/21

Would you like to have your say on Blacktown City Council’s plans and budget for the coming year? Council has updated its Operational Plan for 2020/21 and is seeking community feedback. This plan includes the draft: actions and targets budget capital works and rates, fees and charges. The documents can be found on Council’s website. They incorporate a funding strategy recently approved by Council to borrow $12.7 million to fund asset renewal works in 2020/21.
