Great news! An Albanese Labor Government will invest in local schools -Hon. Fiona Phillips MP Gilmore (ALP)

Today I welcomed Shadow Minister for Education, Tanya Plibersek to the South Coast to join me in making two critical funding commitments for our local schools in Bomaderry and Ulladulla.

I’ve always been a fan of public education, and nothing has changed. Growing up on a local family dairy farm, I went to Terara Public School and I was one of around six students to go on to Nowra High School, where great opportunities awaited me.

I’m really pleased that Labor will help improve infrastructure in our local schools, so students have the best possible environment to learn.

Our commitment is for
$300,000 for covered outdoor areas at Bomaderry High School.

Bomaderry High School has been in desperate need of extra funds to upgrade ageing infrastructure and repair damage from storms.

Our commitment will fund covered outdoor play areas and upgrades to netball and basketball courts.
With Shadow Minister for Education, Tanya Plibersek and Bomaderry High School P&C President Cath Philpott making the announcement today that an Albanese Labor Government will invest in local schools, including outdoor shade structures at Bomaderry High School.
An Albanese Labor Government will also provide $45,000 to Ulladulla High School for outdoor shade and rain protection.

Outdoor all-weather areas are crucial to the health and wellbeing of students, to ensure they can still gather and play safely outdoors.
Join the campaign!
With Ulladulla HIgh School Principal Denise Lofts, teachers, P&C and SRC representatives letting them know that an Albanese Labor Government will invest in local schools, including shade structures at Ulladulla High School.
With your support, under an Albanese Labor government, I will create local jobs and:
  • Put nurses back into nursing homes with better food for residents and a pay rise for aged care workers.
  • Fix the GP crisis and improve local health and mental health services.
  • Invest in our local schools and make TAFE free for skills shortage courses.
  • Take real action to rebuild after disasters and prepare our community for the future.
  • Build better infrastructure, including fixing NBN connections and mobile coverage.
  • Boost affordable and social housing.
Thank you for sharing with me over the last three years what is important to you. I can't wait to keep building a better future with you and for you.
Yours sincerely,

Fiona Phillips MP
