November is another huge month in men's health. International Men's Day falls on Tuesday, 19th November and this year's theme is Men's Health Champions.

How will you celebrate the day? What activities or events have you got planned and do you need help with ideas or promotions?

Check out our resources and information and get in touch if need help listing an event. IMD is a great opportunity to show the men in your life that you care about them.

November is also Movember, a global movement that keeps men's health issues in the spotlight through the simple act of growing a mo. There's a lot of ways you can get on board and many inventive fundraisers in mo...tion!

Theme chosen for International Men's Day

The theme for International Men's Day 2024 is 'Men's Health Champions'. It was chosen to highlight both the key issues facing men and boys, and to recognise the people delivering solutions. If you are planning an IMD event, a good way to keep it topical is by exploring one or more of the 4 sub-themes: Building Healthy Communities, Look Out For Your Mates, Take Action, Stay Healthy and Creating a Healthier Future.

INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY - NOVEMBER 19 - CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2024

Men & Women Working Together to Heal Our World

Dear John

The International Men’s Day team congratulates the women of the world on the 114th celebration of International Women’s Day, which started in 1911. Three years ago, in 2021 the theme we celebrated for International Men’s Day was, ‘better relations between men and women’. This is still one of our core objectives.

That’s why we are encouraging you to make sure you thank and appreciate the women in your life on 8 March by saying,  “Happy International Women’s Day!

Launched in 1999, and now celebrated in more than 90 countries worldwide, International Men’s Day (IMD) is gaining great momentum. One of the six pillars of International Men’s Day is: “To promote positive male role models; not just movie stars and sports men but every day, working class men who are living decent, honest lives.” In this light, the theme for IMD 2024 is ‘Positive Male Role Models’.

See our newly released promo video below.

From the very start International Men’s Day has been about working together with women to reverse the so-called gender war and build better relations between men and women.  Together, as Dr Jerome Teelucksingh often says, “We can bring hope and healing to the human race.”

So, on 8 March, let us greet everyone with a smile and the words, ‘Happy International Women’s Day’.”

Men who are positive male role models are dedicated to the service of others, including women and children. During war time men give their lives in massive acts of bravery on behalf of women and children. Sadly 93% of workplace deaths each year are men. During peace time, men give their lives working hard day and night for the women and children in their lives. Sadly, this sacrifice is not always acknowledged.

We need your help to keep promoting International Men’s Day around the globe. Nothing happens in a vacuum and without your financial assistance we cannot keep promoting International Men’s Day to the world. Thank you for your help in advance.

Dr Jerome Teelucksingh and I believe that “International Men’s Day has the potential to become a global medium to heal our world. The concept and themes of International Men’s Day are designed to give hope to the depressed, faith to the lonely, comfort to the broken-hearted, transcend barriers, eliminate stereotypes, and create a more caring humanity.

We and the team at International Men’s Day believe that now is the time to honour our daughters, sisters, wives, mothers, grandmothers and our female friends by wishing them Happy International Women’s Day.”

The information contained in this communication has gone out as a paid Media Release all over the world. Thank you again in advance for your help to keep getting this message out there.

Yours for a More Caring Humanity

Happy International Men's Day Today - Suzanne Freund

I have just received an email from Suzanne Freund, who has just alarmed me that today is International Men's Day. here is the information supplied, from her email. It is good to see that women are promoting this day, there should be more of it!

Just in case you wondered International Women's Day was on the 8th of March of this year!

Today is International Men’s Day (Friday 19th November 2021) and if you haven’t made plans already, here are five ways you can help support International Men’s Day (IMD) today.

1. Attend An Event

There’s a great list of events on our International Men’s Day (IMD) website, most are held in person this year, with some held online. Not all events take place on the actual day. For example, Global Action for Men’s Health's latest men’s health webinar to mark IMD, takes place on Monday evening.

2. Raise Awareness

This year our theme for International Men’s Day is “talking about men’s mental health” and to help you raise awareness of this important issue, we’ve produced a great set of social media tiles that you can share with friends, family and colleagues. Download and share our 10 key facts about men’s mental health here.

3. Take Action

IMD is a good time to take action for your own mental health (and the mental health of the men and boys in your lives). Check out our new Know Your Man Facts infographic for International Men’s Day, it includes “4 habits of mentally healthy men” and a reminder to check in on mates who are doing it tough.

4. Know Your Man Facts

Dozens of employers are using our new Know Your Man Facts talk to start conversations with their staff about men’s mental health this International Men’s Day. If you want to make use of any of free Know Your Man Facts talks and resources for IMD or throughout the year contact: kim@amhf.org.au

5. Donate to support men’s health

Finally, a simple way to show your support for men’s health on International Men’s Day is to donate money to help us improve the lives and health of men and boys. If you want to give to the cause, you can mark International Men’s Day by making a donation to AMHF online today.

Thanks for your ongoing interest in men’s health, I wish you and the men and boys in your life, a Happy International Men’s Day.

Best Wishes
