Happy International Men's Day Today - Suzanne Freund

I have just received an email from Suzanne Freund, who has just alarmed me that today is International Men's Day. here is the information supplied, from her email. It is good to see that women are promoting this day, there should be more of it!

Just in case you wondered International Women's Day was on the 8th of March of this year!

Today is International Men’s Day (Friday 19th November 2021) and if you haven’t made plans already, here are five ways you can help support International Men’s Day (IMD) today.

1. Attend An Event

There’s a great list of events on our International Men’s Day (IMD) website, most are held in person this year, with some held online. Not all events take place on the actual day. For example, Global Action for Men’s Health's latest men’s health webinar to mark IMD, takes place on Monday evening.

2. Raise Awareness

This year our theme for International Men’s Day is “talking about men’s mental health” and to help you raise awareness of this important issue, we’ve produced a great set of social media tiles that you can share with friends, family and colleagues. Download and share our 10 key facts about men’s mental health here.

3. Take Action

IMD is a good time to take action for your own mental health (and the mental health of the men and boys in your lives). Check out our new Know Your Man Facts infographic for International Men’s Day, it includes “4 habits of mentally healthy men” and a reminder to check in on mates who are doing it tough.

4. Know Your Man Facts

Dozens of employers are using our new Know Your Man Facts talk to start conversations with their staff about men’s mental health this International Men’s Day. If you want to make use of any of free Know Your Man Facts talks and resources for IMD or throughout the year contact: kim@amhf.org.au

5. Donate to support men’s health

Finally, a simple way to show your support for men’s health on International Men’s Day is to donate money to help us improve the lives and health of men and boys. If you want to give to the cause, you can mark International Men’s Day by making a donation to AMHF online today.

Thanks for your ongoing interest in men’s health, I wish you and the men and boys in your life, a Happy International Men’s Day.

Best Wishes
