From Shoalhaven City Council GYM Maitenence - Bay & Basin Leisure Centre

 

GYM Maintenance Bay & Basin Lesiure Centre



Gymnasium repairs to the Bay & Basin Leisure Centre will be undertaken on Thursday 7th April 2022 between 12.00pm-4.00pm.

The gym will still be operational but certain areas will be restricted. We will try to minimise disruptances, so that the majority of exercise equipment can still be used.

It would be appreciated if you could avoid using the gym during this time if at all posiible.

Shoalhaven City Council - Sanctuary Point Library Council Resolution

 

Sanctuary Point Library Council Resolution

At Council’s Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday 25 May 2021, Council resolved that Council:

1. Note the submissions provided on the concept design of the Sanctuary Point District Library for information.

2. Adopt the concept design, as publicly exhibited, with the following minor changes (as displayed in the 'Document Library'):
a. Research Room relocated
b. Stairwell relocated and shape changed to assist with mechanical reticulation
c. Breakup of sunshade on front of building
d. Solid precast wall incorporated to reduce heat
e. Technology Room relocated to north east corner
f. Corridor and lift relocated
g. A solid precast wall incorporated to manage heat gain / loss at front of building

3. Lodge a Development Application for the Sanctuary Point District Library on the corner of Paradise Beach Road and Kerry Street, Sanctuary Point as per MIN20.33 and MIN21.126.

4. Respond to the submissions and advise of Council’s decision.

5. Actively pursue any grant funding opportunities to assist with the delivery of the Sanctuary Point Library.

2nd Invitation Community Survey To Complete - Bay & Basin Community-Led Strategic Plan

This is your other opportunity to have your say in a community survey* which will help stakeholders make decisions of our future local Bay & Basin area.

Sanctuary Point Bendigo Bank and surrounding village community representatives are facilitating preparation of the Bay & Basin Community Led Strategic Plan.

So, if you reside within the  following villages that are with the Bay & Basin Community are as follows:

*The affected villages are: Huskisson, Woollamia. Vincentia,  Bayswood, Hyams Beach, Erowal Bay, Old Erowal Bay, Wrights Beach, Sanctuary Point, Worrowing Heights, St George Basin, Basin View, Tomerong, Jervis Bay Village and Wreck Bay Village.

This is the second of two surveys that will provide valuable information to understand how the Bay & Basin sees itself now, where it sees itself in the future and will set out an opportunistic pathway to move ahead. This second survey will reinforce and expand on the themes and findings from the initial survey (which was conducted during November/ December 2020)

Shoalhaven Arts Board Grants Now Open

This year the arts grants have been expanded to include the new ‘Performing Arts COVID Response grant’ with an investment of $25,000 to support the performing arts industry which has been significantly impacted by the industry shut down due to COVID and public health measures.

Red Cross Support

Previous Red Cross grant recipients who:

  • lost a primary place of residence (including a caravan or mobile home)
  • are the owner-occupier of a home that was structurally damaged, or
  • have been hospitalised for injuries sustained in the bushfires

And have already received a Red Cross grant, you may also be eligible for the new additional support grant if you are still facing financial hardship.

Blackett Park North Playground upgrade

To ensure the planned upgrade for Blackett Park North Playground in St Georges Basin meets the needs of the current and future community, we would like to know how you currently use the facility.

We also want to know what kind of playground equipment you would like to see as part of the playground replacement. Survey closes Friday 4 December 2020.

Two sessions will be held at St Georges Basin Community Hall on Wednesday, 9 December 2020.

We continue to work with TfNSW and the community on pedestrian safety improvements along St Vincent St Ulladulla and are currently in Phase 3 of the strategy.

With the initial measures in place and safety improved, our focus remains on the intersection options and broader safety improvements.

COVID-19 Sport Update

A number of updates have been made to public health advice affecting sport.

The following restrictions have now eased:

  • Gatherings in outdoor public spaces and group bookings at restaurants increased to 30 people
  • NSW gyms only require a COVID-19 safety marshal if there are more than 20 people in the gym at one time
