A phone-based service is supporting people with lived experience of suicide offering compassion and understanding by connecting callers to trained volunteers with a similar experience.
The Peer CARE Companion Warmline is unique because it matches the lived experience of the caller with the lived experience of a trained volunteer. It provides the opportunity to speak with someone who has gone through a similar situation in a safe space of mutual understanding and respect. It can help prevent crisis from developing or reoccurring by connecting people to compassionate lived experience support.
Due to the process of matching the caller with a volunteer with similar circumstances, this is a call-back service. The call is returned within 48 hours of a message been left.
The Warmline phone number is 1800 77 7337 or 1800 77 PEER and a message can be left 24/7.
Roses in the Ocean is thrilled to release our new Peer CARE Companion Warmline animation by Browndog Productions. The animation tells the story of three people affected by suicide and how they found the Warmline.
