Shoalhaven City Council is seeking registrations from the local community to participate in community consultations
Two community consultation sessions will be held in early December at St Georges Basin Community Hall.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Amanda Findley, said “Council have committed funding towards the Development Application ready design of a new District Library for the Bay and Basin area in Sanctuary Point”.
“The Sanctuary Point District Library will inject new life into the Sanctuary Point village by providing a hub of community activity; access to technology and information; a place for meeting, collaborating, connecting, studying; and access to business spaces, reader services and collections”, Clr Findley said.
“I encourage members of the local communities in the area to register to participate in the community consultation sessions. It’s important that we hear from a wide range of people to inform the draft design concept plan”, Clr Findley stated.
The project involves the preparation of a concept design, community consultation and preparation of a detailed design and associated documentation for lodgement of a Development Application.
The community consultation sessions will be held on Wednesday, 9 December 2020 with a morning session at 11.00 am - 1.00 pm and an evening session at 5.30 - 7.30 pm.
Numbers are limited to 25 people per session due to COVID restrictions. If you are unable to attend, interested community members can leave their feedback on the Get Involved Page via the “Leave Use Your Feedback Tab”.
Council has engaged an external consultant to run the sessions.
Feedback will be used to inform the development of the draft concept plan. A final design concept will be presented to the community in early 2021.
The public is encouraged to register their interest to participate in the sessions by visiting Council’s Get Involved page or by contacting Council’s Senior Strategic Planner, Jessica Volkanovski on 02 4429 3152.
More information on the project visit Council’s Get Involved page.
