Today, I have a happy story to share to all of you. I know that here are good Samaritans and stories to tell or talk about, from going through a bad fire. Please read this true story, from here:
Debbie and myself were at K-Mart Nowra today, I was looking to purchase steel-capped shoes, when this man in his late 30's to 40's grabbed a pair of size 10 shoes and feeling so excited, he said to me,' These are the best boots he ever hard and lasted him a long time.'
So, I thought about what he said momentarily and asked him, 'How long did they last him'.
He replied, 'Until the fires burnt them'.
I was so astonished, that I asked, ' So you are a Firie'?
And he replied, ' No, my house was burnt down near Lake Conjola'. I was pretty sure that he said the place he lived was Yatte Yattah. He later explained to me he and his family are currently living in a caravan park.
I mentioned to Debbie what he had said and we both agreed to pay for his boots, he so loved. Debbie approached him and asked if we could pay for the boots. He replied that his family had vouchers and they were alright. He also didn't want us to pay for it.
As we went to the checkouts, we decided that we would buy his family a box of chocolates. After the purchase, we ask a K-Mart staff member, to label it as "purchased", as we were donating it to his family, that lost their house due to the recent fires.
Debbie approached his wife, two sons and this man (his name was Dan) and straight away gave the box of chocolates to them. Dan was on the phone, he told them to hang on and gave a big hug to Debbie and then to myself. Dan did explain that he was holding back his tears. His wife was overwhelmed and one of his sons also hugged Debbie. I said to him that he didn't want us to buy the shoes, so it was the least we could do.
The hero was Dan and his family.
Please let us know of any good stories, similar circumstances, tears to cheers stories, loving stories: that change people's emotional well being from sadness to gladness/happiness. The world needs to know about this. It is the little things we do, to place a big smile and happiness on people's faces, hearts and lives, that makes the world a more beautiful place to live in.
A blog that will cover many items, raise topics for discussion and proper kind of debate and/or support for issues raised
