IPART has released its Issues Paper for the review of Fire and Rescue NSW’s fees and charges - NSW IPART

IPART is reviewing Fire and Rescue NSW’s user charges for services such as false alarm call-outs to automatic fire alarm systems, hazmat incidents and statutory fire safety inspections.

We are seeking feedback on our proposed approach to this review, including which services should be subject to user charges and a pricing methodology to recover the costs of those services.

Review of Fire & Rescue fees - NSW IPART

Invitation to comment on draft terms of reference

IPART has received draft terms of reference asking us to review Fire and Rescue NSW’s current charging model and to make recommendations on:

- Which FRNSW services should be subject to user-pays charges

- A pricing framework to recover the efficient costs of those services

IPART must consider any public comments on the draft terms of reference and settle the final terms of reference with the Minister for Customer Service.

All interested parties are invited to make submissions on the draft terms of reference by 22 June 2021. Draft terms of reference and information on how to make a submission are on our website here to have your say.

There will be further opportunities to comment on this review when we publish an issues paper, to be followed by a draft report and a public hearing.  Details will be made available on the IPART website.
