NEW COUNCIL TEAM FOR THE SHOALHAVEN - Shoalhaven City Council - Media Release

Shoalhaven City Council is excited to share the results of the successful candidates for each Ward who will sit as the new City Councillors for the next Council term to September 2024. Results were released on Wednesday, 22
 December 2021 when the election count was finalised. 

Elected candidates for each Ward include: 

Mayor  

Amanda Findley 

Ward 1 

John Wells 

Tonia Gray  

Serena Copley 

Matthew Norris

Ward 2 

Greg Watson 

Christen Evan 

John Kotlash  

Paul Ell 

Ward 3 

Mark Kitchener 

Patricia White 

Liza Butler  

Muriel D’Ath (Moo)  

The new team includes eight new Councillors. 

Council CEO, Stephen Dunshea said: “I am looking forward to working with the newly elected Councillors to confirm their priorities and set the direction for the Shoalhaven for the coming term of Council.” 

“New Councils bring a renewed look at issues and priorities for our region. As well as continuing to provide essential services for our communities, Council staff are ready and eager to respond to,  and implement, new decisions made by the incoming councillors. ” Mr Dunshea said. 

The new Councillors will undertake intensive induction briefings commencing early January 2022 to enable the CEO and the Executive Team to bring the new Councillors up to speed on many of the current Council projects, challenges and opportunities. 

The first Ordinary Meeting for the new Councillors will be held on Tuesday, 25 January 2022 in the Council Chambers, and can be viewed through the live stream on Council’s website

Schedule of Meetings Amended following the postponement of the Local Government Elections - Shoalhaven City Council - Media Release

On 24 July 2021, the NSW Minister for Local Government revoked the previous order for Council elections to be held on 4 September 2021 and appointed 4 December 2021 as the new date for the NSW Local Government Elections. As a result of this amendment, Council endorsed an amended schedule of meetings at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on Tuesday 27 July. 

The scheduled meeting dates for the period from August 2021 to November 2021 is as follows: 

·        Tuesday 3 August 2021 at 5pm – Ordinary Meeting 

·        Tuesday 31 August 2021 at 5pm – Ordinary Meeting 

·        Tuesday 7 September 2021 at 5pm – Development & Environment Committee 

·        Tuesday 14 September 2021 at 5pm – Strategy & Assets Committee 

·        Tuesday 28 September 2021 at 5pm – Ordinary Meeting 

·        Tuesday 5 October 2021 at 5pm - Development & Environment Committee 

·        Tuesday 12 October 2021 at 5pm – Strategy & Assets Committee 

·        Tuesday 26 October 2021 at 5pm – Ordinary Meeting 

·        Tuesday 2 November 2021 at 5pm – Ordinary Meeting
