The future is for everyone - Men's International Day - November 19

Theme 2026: The Future is Everyone

Dear John

“Over the last 50 years the dynamics between men and women have turned more into a competition rather than a collaboration", are the wise but sad words of Lisa Britton.

Lisa, from the USA, is a journalist and passionate advocate for men and boys.

You might remember that Dads4Kids organized the historic 9-hour International Men’s Day Global Webcast last year on 19 November 2025. The purpose of the webcast was to honour the contribution of men and boys to families, communities and society the world over.

Lisa was one of our outstanding guests.

We are excited to announce the theme for International Men’s Day, 19 November 2026 is:

 “The Future is Everyone”.

This is Lisa Britton’s heartfelt suggestion and Dr Jerome Teelucksingh and I, with a small cohort of men’s movement leaders, both men and women from around the globe, are in passionate agreement. Watch our announcement video below.

We are very excited about the theme for 2026 for four reasons:

·      This is the first year the annual theme has come from the United States of America.

·      The USA IMD celebration needs to develop and help touch the world.

·      The above suggestion for IMD’s theme for 2026 ‘The Future is Everyone’, demonstrates the groundswell of support coming from woman across the world.

·      IMD needs more woman helping to advocate for men and boys.

Over the last 24 years of Dads4Kids existence I have often said that one woman advocating for men and boys is worth ten men. This does not demean men but is the reality of the situation we find ourselves in our gynocentric world.

Lisa’s journey began as a feminist advocate for women and girls. But after confronting the data, listening to the stories, and seeing the silent struggle of boys, she realized something was missing from the conversation.

Boys were falling behind — and almost no one was willing to talk about it.

Lisa speaks candidly about how advocating for boys became taboo, the resistance she faced personally, and why compassion cannot be a zero-sum game. When boys suffer, families suffer.

When men struggle, communities fracture. And when only one sex is allowed to be supported, everyone loses. Lisa’s message is simple but confronting: The future isn’t male or female — the future is everyone.

The above video challenges cultural narratives, invites women into the conversation, and reminds us that lifting boys does not diminish girls — it strengthens society as a whole.

In the later part of the 1800s, when women were unjustly denied the right to vote, along with many other egregious violations of basic human rights it was men like John Mill,   speaking up for women, who often made the difference.

While the women’s movement, in its early days, faced immense opposition, the growing collaboration with male allies helped shift arguments from sentiment to democratic justice.

This helped secure key victories, such as women gaining the right to vote in some regions, and improved property/legal rights in the late 1800s.

In the early stages of the women’s movement, one man advocating for women and girls, was worth ten woman.

In today’s gynocentric world one woman advocating for men and boys is worth ten men doing the same.

We need a thousand more women like Lisa Britton joining us to 'shift the narrative' and advocate for a better world for men and boys.

I have some other good news. David Maywald, author, of the 'Relentless War on Men and Boys' and advocate for men and boys, is taking a voluntary leadership role helping promote International Men’s Day on a global basis, on behalf of Dads4Kids. Before this David helped me, but now, I am helping him.

Under his leadership the global team at International Men’s Day is excited to announce their enthusiastic support for the International Council for Men and Boys public campaign for reform at the United Nations. The International Council for Men and Boys have three goals for 2026:

  1. Formal recognition of International Men’s Day on the UN calendar (the first official day for men or boys, when there are already 13 days for women and girls).
  2. Mandatory reporting of outcomes for males and females across UN programs and the Sustainable Development Goals.
  3. Endorsement of the New York Declaration for Men and Boys, coming 31 years after adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Action Plan for women and girls.”

Please get the word out. Let’s move forward together to make this happen.

I am thrilled with these developments. I am sure you feel the same way I do. We need to stop the gender war and restore cooperative collaboration between men and women.

Let’s tell the whole world “The Future is Everyone”.

Much Love
