Point to Point Transport Use surveyIPART has released its annual survey of Point to Point Transport useSince 2012 IPART has regularly surveyed residents of Sydney, other urban areas, and the rest of NSW about their use and perceptions of taxis and other forms of point to point transport. In 2025 we found that taxi usage has declined while satisfaction has declined for both rideshare and taxis, even as reported average fares were lower for both. The results show 48% of respondents reported using rideshare in the previous six months, compared to 39% for taxis. Rideshare was used more often than taxis in all areas of the state except regional areas, while booked taxi services were used more often than rank and hail services throughout the state. A fact sheet and the full survey report are available on IPART’s website. |
