Good Morning,

My name is Nikki Morris and I am the Founder and President of the Empower Me Program Inc.

Our program provides children and youth between the ages of 7-17, creative and empowerment workshops and camps. Our overarching aim is to reduce mental illness in the Shoalhaven community. 

Our Key elements are; Connection, Kindness, Self-esteem, and Resilience.

We also host many community events to raise funds for our NFP, so that children and youth can attend these services at a reduced cost.

Our latest project ‘Grab a Cuppa’ has just been granted $5,000 from Australia Post community grants. We are fortunate enough to be 1 of 70 organisations in Australia, to receive this grant.

This project will directly support carers or families caring for children (young or old) with mental illness or who have experienced suicide in their family.

Interested community members can join the ‘Grab a Cuppa’ support group and with the help of the grant, can attend 3-5 support sessions at a local hospitality business. Where they will be provided with guest speakers that can provide them with local support agencies and everyday strategies to not only support their children but themselves too.

We are asking our local community connections to please share these events through your connections. All events are free and catered and have been supported by local businesses; Bangalay Dining, Greendale's Cafe and Restaurant, Decadence Cakes Treats and Gifts, and The Bery Tea shop.
