The concept design for the new Sanctuary Point Library is now available for public comment.
The two storey, architecturally designed project has been developed in partnership with local community members and will provide a new library and community facility for the Bay and Basin area.
The design for the library, which will be located on the corner of Paradise Beach Road and Kerry Street in Sanctuary Point, features a modern library with reading areas, public spaces, group study and children’s areas. It also offers quiet study areas with a peaceful lounge and working spaces.

“There are some really exciting components of the building itself, such as a Green Air Purification system which uses living plants to filter the air, as well as other passive design features like rainwater harvesting and energy recycling.
“I encourage community members to take the opportunity on Tuesday, 20 April to attend drop-in sessions with Council staff and members from the consultant team to talk through the plans and ask any questions you may have regarding the project,” Ms Lewis said.
Two onsite community drop-in sessions will be held on Tuesday, 20 April, in the carpark on the corner of Paradise Beach Road and Kerry Street, Sanctuary Point at 9:30-11:30am and 2:30-4:30pm.
