Shoalhaven beaches are a great place to swim according to the latest State of the Beaches Report, published by the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Environment.
According to the Report, all ten Shoalhaven beaches monitored by the program have excellent microbial water quality and are graded at the highest level as ‘Very Good’ or ‘Good’.
The monitored swimming sites include Shoalhaven Heads Beach, Tilbury Cove, Warrain Beach, Collingwood Beach, Cudmirrah Beach, Mollymook Beach, Rennies Beach, Bawley Point Beach, Merry Beach and Racecourse Beach.
Each year, In partnership with the Beachwatch program, Shoalhaven City Council monitors ten swimming sites. For the most recent report, samples were collected weekly between December 2019 and March 2020 with sampling and laboratory costs covered by Council.
Council will again be taking part in Beachwatch over the next three months. To ensure that all samples are taken the same way and information is correct, sampling activities are audited regularly each year.
