Update from The Australian Health Minister, Hon Greg Hunt

I’d like to thank all Australians for the difficult things you have done to assist in Australia flattening the curve.

Together we have helped suppress coronavirus and save lives.

Our border measures, testing, contact tracing and social distancing have combined to put Australia in a strong position.

Now though it’s equally important to safely get Australians back to work and back to their normal lives.

As part of that partnership, over 3.5 million Australians have already downloaded the COVIDSafe App to help protect themselves, their families and in particular our nurses and doctors.

But we need more. That’s why the Prime Minister and I are asking you to consider downloading the COVIDSafe App, if you haven't already.

COVIDSafe will help state and territory health officials to notify you if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus.

This ensures people are tested and treated faster, so we can stay on top of outbreaks.

If you haven’t already, I’d ask you to please consider downloading COVIDSafe at health.gov.au.

By working together, Australia can stay on top of coronavirus and continue on the road to recovery.

Regards,

Greg Hunt
Minister for Health
