This week the Liberal Party room made the decision to change our leader. I’m very pleased to have voted for Angus Taylor and I’m looking forward to what he can achieve as he takes the fight to Labor. I congratulate Senator Jane Hume too, who was elected deputy leader. Changing leaders is not something done lightly. But as Jane said earlier in the week, “unless something changes, we’ll be wiped out”. That’s the reality we faced. But with change comes renewal and opportunity. It’s time to take the fight up against the worst government in our nation’s history. It’s time to fight for a better Australia. Under Angus’s leadership, I believe we can chart a way forward where we offer Australians a genuine opposition and an alternative government. I believe we can do that if we stop trying to be Labor-lite. Time and again, we’ve seen that when we try to be like Labor, people just vote for the real thing. Our values need to be concrete and tied to real outcomes. Stopping mass immigration, restoring cheap energy, bringing back industry, building more housing, ceasing classroom indoctrination, and reviving national pride. We must reject identity politics and refuse to play the game with the media or with Labor of pandering to sectional interests. Finally, it’s family, community, and nation that unite us, and a focus on building these three pillars will put us in a winning position. I’m looking forward to rebuilding and continuing to fight for you and the values we share. And I’m so glad to have you beside me as we get back into the fight! Time for REAL solutions.
