Celebrating connection: R U OK? National Art Competition winners announced
Year 7 and 8 students from across Australia shared their creativity, vulnerability, and individuality in response to the question “What does connection mean to you?” for our R U OK? National Student Art Competition. From 16 finalists, five Creative Legends were selected:
- Eloi, Cumberland High School – We Are Connected: explores navigating high school and forming friendships.
- Summer, Unity Studios – Connection: shows love for people and places through a photo collage.
- Lucas, Tamm Art Studio – Universe, Ocean, Sunrise and the Core: celebrates Lucas' mother as the heart of the universe.
- Abi, Singleton High School – Connection: highlights support from self-care, family, friends, and culture.
- Shana, Balwyn High School – Sunset: depicts the bond between Shana and her pet dog, Celo.
Thank you to every student who used their creativity to make a difference, to their schools for supporting their entries, and ACCO Brands for generously donating the prizes.

School Shout Out: Lurnea High School
We’re grateful for the many ways schools create their own approaches to fostering connection and support. Thank you to Lurnea High School, where students focused on why checking in matters through creative activities and events, including bracelet making, poster creation, a soccer game, and a Colour Run.

Help someone feel seen and heard ahead of the holiday season
From the whole team at R U OK?, we wish you a happy and restful holiday season.
We also encourage you to keep in mind that while the holiday season can be great fun, it can also be a time of stress for people experiencing financial, family, or other challenges. Make sure to check in with colleagues before you head off for the school break. If you or someone you know needs support during the holidays help is available 24/7.
Thanks for all of your support in 2025 and we will see you in 2026.
