| Wonderful water in the ShoalhavenGreat news - Shoalhaven Water continues to deliver high quality drinking water. Recent testing for per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in raw and drinking water has confirmed that the Shoalhaven community continues to enjoy safe and reliable potable (drinking) water. In July this year, Shoalhaven Water undertook testing of our main sources of water for PFAS, in the Shoalhaven River (Bamarang Dam), Porters Creek Dam and Kangaroo Valley (Bendeela Pondage), revealing ‘nil detectable’ PFAS at all locations. | |
| Keep dobbing in a dumperWe've investigated 1,637 illegal dumping incidents across the city during the last financial year. It’s a record high and the figure highlights the dedication by residents and ratepayers to report instances of illegal dumping. More than 3,000 tonnes of construction and demolition material was among the waste dumped unlawfully. We love that our community is passionate about identifying and reporting this behaviour. To report illegal dumping head to the EPA’s portal. | |

Thanks to a Recreational Fishing Trust grant and natural disaster funding, The Island Point Road and the Basin Road jetties will be fully remediated. We’re hopeful the works will be finished early next year while the weather is still warm so that both locals and visitors to the area can take full advantage of these facilities. | |
