National Suicide Prevention Conference 2024

Last week Suicide Prevention Australia welcomed over 750 colleagues from around the nation in Adelaide for our 25th National Suicide Prevention Conference.

The voice of lived experience was strong, compelling and thought provoking, uniting and inspiring us all.

Australia’s track record in world-class research and innovation was evident, with some of the brightest minds in research coming together to share leading insights.

The conference theme 'Collective Courage. Accelerate Impact' was heard loud and clear by our keynote speakers and special dignitaries such as His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC, The Hon Emma McBride, The Hon Chris Picton and The Hon Anne Ruston, to name a few. They not only provided hope but motivated us to create meaningful change.

Data in Practice Webinar: New South Wales Suicide Monitoring System

Our Data in Practice series takes a deep dive into the New South Wales Suicide Monitoring System. Established in late 2020, it aims to improve the quality and integration of suicide-related data across NSW.

This webinar will be hosted by Nancy Jong and John Uesi from InforMH, a team within the System Information and Analytics Branch of the NSW Ministry of Health. They will showcase the NSW Suicide Monitoring System and explore its role in suicide prevention in NSW.

Men's Table Entree
Multiple dates and locations available.
The Men’s Table Entree is an introduction to The Men’s Table through open sharing over a relaxed and conversational meal. This month, they have entree tables in Kalgoorlie, Noosa, Logan, Drysdale and Caloundra. The cost includes a meal. The Entree event is a chance to meet other men, learn about how a Table works and helping you decide whether you’d like to part of this local Men’s Table group. Learn more

Manning SPN is a local group of community members & services dedicated to reducing the incidence of suicide in the Manning Valley, increasing awareness of issues & strengthening the support for our communities. Become a CALM Yarn Trainer
May 20 - 23, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The CALM Yarn workshop is a one-day workshop that teaches four key actions: Connect, Ask, Listen, Monitor to build confidence, knowledge and skills. Developed in partnership with the Indigenous Peoples Team at Richmond Fellowship Queensland. The T4T is effectively delivered over 4 days in-person.
