Nowra Bridge Update - NSW Government

What's in this update:

  • Weekend work continues on the Princes Highway near Bolong Road. Access in and out of Bolong Road will be restricted during works.

Temporary closure of Bolong Road this weekend

Works will be carried out at the intersection of the Princes Highway and Bolong Road from 7pm Friday 9 September until 6am Monday 12 September, weather permitting.

During these works, road users will not be able to access Bolong Road from the Princes Highway, or access the Princes Highway from Bolong Road.

While we will aim to minimise our impacts, nearby residences will experience some noise and traffic impacts over the weekend. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained.

Light vehicles will be detoured via Beinda Street and heavy vehicles will be detoured via Railway Street and Meroo Road during this work.

Pedestrian access will be maintained but there may be some changes.

Upcoming traffic switch between Bolong Road Illaroo Road

After this weekend of work, from Monday 12 September, traffic on the Princes Highway will be shifted west between Bolong Road and Illaroo Road while we continue work on the eastern side of the Princes Highway.

Northbound traffic will move onto the new lanes of Bomaderry Creek Bridge and southbound traffic will move west temporarily. Traffic signals at the intersections with Bolong Road and Illaroo Road will also be shifted during this time.

This allows us to construct an upgraded 2.5 metre wide shared path on the eastern side of the Princes Highway, including an upgrade to the safety barrier on Bomaderry Creek Bridge.

Watch a video explaining the upcoming changes.
