Back to Restrictions NSW Coronavirus COVID-19 - Service NSW
In response to the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, the following rules are being reintroduced:
Mask wearing is required in all indoor settings from 12:01am Friday 24 December
COVID-Safe check-ins will be required to enter hospitality and retail premises from 27 December 2021
Businesses should encourage staff to work from home (where possible)
Hospitality venues, including pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes will move to 1 person per 2 sqm rule indoors, with no density limit for outdoor settings
You should remain seated while eating and drinking in hospitality venues, and singing and dancing is strongly discouraged.
Get tested before you travel
Travelling interstate over the break? If the state or territory you plan to visit has testing entry requirements, you can get tested near your home before you leave.
Clinics in border regions may be busier during this time, so it’s best to get tested beforehand. Results typically take 24 to 48 hours.
Stay safe with a COVID-19 booster vaccination
Looking forward to seeing friends and family this festive season? Make sure you stay safe by getting your booster shot.
If you’re aged 18 or over and it’s been 5 months since your second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, you can now get a booster vaccination. This will help strengthen your immune system and help protect you and your loved ones against COVID-19.
Go online during the Christmas period
Service NSW centres may be closed or have different opening hours over the holiday period. Check the opening hours before you visit a Service NSW location.
While Service Centres are closed there are many online transactions you can do yourself such as: renewing your registration, renewing your driver licence and applying for a Working with Children Check or NSW Seniors Card.
