Shoalhaven City Council welcomes the latest announcement on the easing of COVID restrictions and planning is well underway to commence the re-
Council is currently consulting with health authorities, police and peak industry bodies to seek further advice on ensuring public safety as we plan for the staged reopening of services and facilities in strict adherence with expert health advice.
In accordance with the NSW Public Health Order, all visitors to Council venues and facilities must meet specific requirements to enter and follow COVID safe measures in place.
All Council venues and facilities will have covid safe plans in place which we will request all visitors to respect.
From 9.00am Monday 11 October, the Customer Service Counter at Nowra Administration Building will be the first of our facilities to re-open to the public.
Safety of the community remains the highest priority. Council staff are working towards re-opening Council facilities once COVID safety plans and measures are confirmed, these include:
- Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre
- Shoalhaven Libraries
- All Swim Sport and Fitness facilities
- Shoalhaven Regional Gallery
- Bereavement Services (exceptions apply)
- Holiday Haven (exceptions apply).
In line with the Public Health Order, visitors to these venues and facilities will be required to have received and provide proof of double COVID vaccination to be allowed entry. Some exemptions apply.
The community are encouraged to visit Council’s website as more details on re-opening are will become available in the coming days.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley thanked all members of the community for their continued patience and understanding as Council staff work towards ensuring services and facilities can be enjoyed in a COVID safe manner once Public Health Orders allow.
“Whilst I’m delighted to see the majority of Council's facilities are to re-open, safety remains a priority. I’m calling on the entire community to plan ahead, follow Public Health
“This is the first step in the NSW Government’s COVID Recovery Roadmap and it’s imperative that we remain vigilant to the serious risks that COVID can pose in our community as we begin to re-open", Clr Findley said.
