You know, I just heard recently of a man that had passed away the other week, 'Allan Bourman'. When I started my public transport advocacy in Mount Druitt, this was one person that made my life easy.
Allan, you supported me in all the community meetings we had from Save Our Buses, Mount Druitt & Surrounding Suburbs to Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group - where you grasped the role of Hon. Treasurer. I remember how you were worried about taking on this role, yet with the little finances we had - there was nothing to worry about. You did the job so nicely, collecting $2.00 at every monthly meeting from all members.
You invited me into your home and beautiful garden in Mount Druitt, we shared cups of tea and the occasional beer. Allan, in my heart you will be remembered as the gentleman's gentleman in my heart. Thank you so much for what you have done in the area of Mount Druitt, it wasn't just because of me that we got two out three buses back. It was of people like you - you were like me - we had hope.
Allan, Rest in Peace.......
