Today is a day I will always remember , when my mother passed away quietly in the front of my eyes, with others around me.
Mum had migrated from the province of Normandy, France in the late 1950's, leaving all her family behind. In Australia, I am the only one that knew of her for over fifty years left from her family. she had always meant so much to me. She is my life 'idol'. She helped me be the kind person that I hope I am to others. She made me laugh and she made me cry but mostly she cared for me as a single mother, in Australia - new Australian and having no family around for her support. Until She met Armelle (my God-mother) and her french family - they became hers and my family.
Yes, most people would have known that I had a single mother that married later in life - in the 1960's - which was unheard of that much. She worked so hard to make who I am today. I know one day I will meet her as I will meet others.
So, to my mother Gisele Henriette Svoboda (Mulot) I dedicate the songs that she like playing on vinyl records hundreds and hundreds of times both in English and in French (for french families we are in touch with), sung by Edith Piaf a famous french singer.
